The Postgraduate Program "Management of Sports, Recreation and Sports Tourism" aims to teach and promote research on issues related to the management of sports, recreation, sports facilities / centers and sports tourism, covering the entire spectrum of municipal, state (RDI), and private organizations and clubs of the sports market in Greece.
The programme introduces the following innovations:
- It emphasizes the cooperation with the General Secretariat of Sports and the training of executives of National Sports Centres (NCCs) and related sports organizations supervised by the General Secretariat of Sports.
- It emphasizes the cooperation with state and private bodies of the sports and tourism market (clubs, exercise centers, sports companies, etc.)
- It emphasizes the connection of academic knowledge and theory with practice and the labor market
- It promotes research through collaboration with the Laboratory of "Sports, Tourism and Recreation Management" of the Physical Education Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
- Students are given the opportunity to participate in research activities and programs.
- It places particular emphasis on research and cooperation between the University Departments of Greece through academic activities of common interest
- It promotes research and cooperation between Greek and foreign University Departments (e.g. trans-European research programme, research, postgraduate student exchanges, teacher exchanges, etc.).
- The teaching staff includes renowned scientists of recognized scientific prestige and experience.
- Mechanisms have been put in place to evaluate the progress of the programme, thus ensuring its quality and effectiveness.
- Teachers, administrative staff and students are given the opportunity to enrich their knowledge on a number of topics of mainly academic interest through scheduled seminars conducted within the framework of the MSc (staff training programs).
- Gain managerial experience through well-designed apprenticeships / internships in sports and leisure organizations and companies.
